Imelda May and the Joanna Eden Band have joined the line-up for Van Morrison’s outdoor show at the English Heritage site Audley End House & Gardens in Saffron Walden, Essex, this summer, which also features very special guests The Waterboys.
Imelda May is a multi-award-winning Irish singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Following on from a breakout performance on Later… with Jools Holland, Imelda has since staged her own sold-out tours across the UK, Ireland, Europe, North America and Australia, performing for royalty, presidents and at major events around the world.
She’s collaborated with legendary artists such as Lou Reed, Bono, Elvis Costello, Jeff Beck, Van Morrison, Robert Plant and has, most recently, sung several songs on Hollywood actor Jeff Goldblum’s debut jazz album.
Imelda May’s recently released album ‘11 Past The Hour’ features collaborators including Noel Gallagher, Ronnie Wood and Miles Kane. The album debuted this week at No.6 in the UK Album Chart, giving Imelda her fourth UK Top 10 album, and also hit the top spot on the Irish Album Chart, making her the only Irish female soloist to achieve four No.1 albums in the Irish charts this century.
Described by Time Out as ‘The UK’s answer to Diana Krall and Norah Jones’, Joanna Eden has performed her jazz influenced original music all over the world and supported world-class artists including Jamie Cullum, the Buena Vista Social Club, Ronan Keating, and the Blockheads.
The Joanna Eden Band feature British jazz luminaries and combine the energy and rhythmic virtuosity of Latin music with the intimacy and honesty of Joanna’s acclaimed originals which MOJO Magazine described as having ‘melody, mystery and bite!’.
The show at Audley End House & Gardens in Saffron Walden, the opulent Jacobean mansion house in the gorgeous Essex countryside, will be headlined by Van Morrison and feature very special guests The Waterboys.
