English Heritage and Giles Cooper Entertainment (GCE) have announced today (Wednesday 13th December 2017) the next concert to take place at the stunning grounds of Kenwood House in Hampstead in June 2018.
The Heritage Live Concert Series will take place across two weekends in June, bringing together the best in live music in the most unique of outdoor settings.
One of the most loved and best-selling vocalists of his generation, Alfie Boe, has been announced for the series at Kenwood House, performing on Saturday 16th
June.
Inspired by his opera-loving parents from an early age, Boe was first discovered singing on the production line in a Lancashire car factory. His incredible rise to fame since has seen him take on the world’s of both the pop charts, the West End, Broadway and of course, opera.
Amongst his many career highlights have included starring in Baz Luhrmann’s 2002 Broadway revival of La Bohème, for which he was awarded a coveted Tony Award, leading the cast of Les Miserables as Valjean in the West End production (including the world famous 25th Anniversary performance at the O2 Arena in 2010), and performing for Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th
Birthday Celebrations at Windsor Castle.
Last year, he reached Double Platinum status with the Christmas No1 album ‘Together’, made with great friend Michael Ball OBE. The pair returned this year with yet another No 1 album, the recently released “Together Again” , another sold out tour and one hour ITV Special. He was also awarded a blue plaque in his hometown of Fleetwood, as part of BBC Music Day.
The audience at Kenwood House can expect Boe’s incredible voice performing pieces from throughout his hugely successful and diverse career, with special guests for the evening to be announced.
On the show, Boe said: “I’m so happy to be returning to one of my favourite venues to play. I plan on creating a real nostalgic party vibe along with some of my old classics. Can’t wait to be back at Kenwood. Love to you all”.
Giles Cooper, the Managing Director of GCE, has been involved in some of the most memorable live experiences in the UK for almost three decades, including variety shows such as Sunday Night At The Palladium, and is the Chairman and Executive Producer of the annual Royal Variety Performance. He said: “Alfie really is in a league of his own and we can’t wait to welcome him to Hampstead Heath in June on our first Saturday night of our Kenwood Summer concert series. It will undoubtedly be a very special night to remember.”
Tickets go on sale to English Heritage members on Thursday 14th December, and general on sale Friday 15th December.
